Experiential Trainee

As an Experiential Trainee, you must be able to demonstrate the use of: ‘empty chair’ with individual therapy, and direct ‘sociodramatic role training’ in a practicum test. Trainees must also pass an assessment that tests basic theories and skills, and definition of specific terms.

Criteria for Experiential Trainee

EDUCATION:
A minimum of a Diploma in Counselling, or related field plus one (1) year experience working in the field.

TRAINING: 120 hours of workshops in Psychodrama from trainers certified by ABE, BPA, AANZPA, PIM, Taiwan Psychodrama Board, or FEPTO affiliated Senior Trainers. 60 hours of these trainings must be with their Primary Trainer.

PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE:
Trainees must practice the skills (which they have learned from training workshops) in their areas of expertise in individual or group therapy sessions. They are required to run a minimum of twenty (20) sessions with ten (10) hours of supervision from their Primary Trainer over a minimum of 12 weeks. 25% of these sessions must be in group sessions. Each session must be a minimum of one hour in duration.

Experiential Facilitator

As an Experiential Faciltiator you must be able to demonstrate some of the following in an onsite test with a group: Experiential warmups, basic sociometry, Psychodramatic structures such as future projections, concretization of resources and obstacles, role reversal, doubling, basic concepts of warm up, action, and sharing.

Criteria for Experiential Facilitator

EDUCATION:
Bachelor degree in a mental health/counselling field or a Bachelor degree in an unrelated field and one course in basic counselling skills PLUS two (2) Years’ experience working in the field.

TRAINING:
300 hours of workshops in Psychodrama from trainers certified by ABE, BPA, ANZPA, PIM, Taiwan Psychodrama Board, or
FEPTO affiliated Senior Trainers. 50 % of these trainings must be with their Primary Trainer.

PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE:
Trainees must practice the experiential skills (which they have learned from training workshops) in their areas of expertise in individual or group therapy sessions. They are required to run a minimum of forty (40) therapy sessions with Twenty (20) hours of supervision from their Primary Trainer. The remaining hours can be from a PAT or TEP certified by ABE, BPA,
ANZPA, PIM, Taiwan Psychodrama Board, or FEPTO affiliated Senior Trainers approved of by their Primary Trainer.
Each supervised therapy session must be a minimum of one hour in duration. 50% of these sessions must be in group sessions.

Certified Experiential Facilitator (CEF)

As a Certified Experiential Faciliator, you will need to demonstrate an understanding of basic Role theory and Sociometry in a written exam of short answers and MCQ’s

Criteria for Certified Experiential Facilitator (CEF)

EDUCATION:
Master’s degree in a Mental Health field (e.g. Social work, Counselling, Psychology)

TRAINING:
*500 workshop hours from trainers certified by ABE, BPA, ANZPA, PIM, Taiwan Psychodrama Board, or FEPTO affiliated
Senior Trainers. 50% of these trainings must be with their Primary Trainer.

PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE:
Supervised practical hours – *Sixty (60) sessions with *Thirty (30) hours supervision to be completed within 36 months. Hours can be from a PAT or TEP certified by ABE, BPA, ANZPA, PIM, Taiwan Psychodrama Board, or FEPTO affiliated Senior
Trainers approved of by their Primary Trainer.

Practical Exam:
Ability to direct psychodramatic vignettes, use of Sociometry to build group cohesion. Use basic concepts of warm up, action and sharing to run a Psychodrama session.

*Some of these hours can be accrued towards ABE certification at Level 4
